Costs for Mediation Services

Costs are dealt with as transparently as possble and Geoff will always discuss them at the outset.

The mediation day itself is charged at £1,500 from commencement (to suit the parties) until 6.30pm. Thereafter an hourly rate of £250 is applied.

Preparation time, which includes speaking to the parties before the mediation, is charged at the same hourly rate, though not more than 6 hours will be incurred without the parties’ agreement. There is no charge for travelling time, but fuel will be charged at 45p per mile, and all other expenses as incurred.

As a full day is not always necessary, Geoff is happy to conduct half-day mediations where the charge is £900 and no more than 3 hours preparation will be incurred without permission.

Alternatively, recognising that parties often prefer certainty, Geoff is also happy to conduct a mediation at a fixed fee.

The costs incurred are usually shared between the parties equally, the figures specified being for each mediation and not each party.

The service does not charge VAT.
